We are beyond excited to announce our partnership between Lasting Impact! and Skill Set Debate! Let me introduce you to Skill Set Debate-they are a small business created by young entrepreneurs in 2017 whose lives have been drastically changed by the power of public speaking. Each member of their team has a unique story and is passionate about helping others develop their personal communication style for the glory of God. I am excited about what the Lord has in store… even if it means online, because growth will continue, relationships will be made, and we will have fun!!
Skill Set started out as a summer hobby, but over the past few years has grown to reach hundreds of students all across the North West and Hawaii. Our goal, along with Skill Set Debate match!! Both our organizations desire is to “Equip students, parents, coaches, and clubs with the skill set necessary to communicate a Biblical worldview in a post-modern world.” The curriculum used in camp is centered around three essential components: public speaking, critical thinking and current events. We believe that being able to communicate is the most important skill anyone can learn!
Together, Skill Set Debate and Lasting Impact! will be providing a brand new online debate course!! We will be coaching you two days a week for three-weeks. It is a unique combination of online one-on-one coaching opportunities, small group sessions, and comprehensive lectures. We purposely keep class sizes small in order to maintain a small student to coach ratio to maintain that personal connection that we have been known for. Each student will be divided into a small group to work closely with an assigned coach over the three weeks further their skill set through practice and feedback.
We recognize that this is a difficult time for all of us, that is why we wanted to ensure that even though we are asked to stay distant from one another physically, that doesn’t mean we can’t stay connected. There are alternate routes to create real meaningful connections. We hope that you will join us in learning together!
