We are so excited about reaching out to so many communities this summer (and fall)! Each speech and debate camp/workshop that Lasting Impact! is a part of, is unique! More information and registration links will be coming in the next week or so. Also, Lasting Impact! Is excited to announce we will be hosting a variety of Online Workshops this Fall!! Heather Neumann Camps
July 23-27 – Chicago , IL – Speech and Debate (Parli) Camps

Aug. 2 – Milwaukee, WI – Speech Camp
Salt and Light Speech and Debate Club is hosting a one day Speech Camp, led by Heather Neumann where beginning and advanced students will prepare for the upcoming season, tackling NCFCA speech categories, the benefits of speech and debate, as well as break outs for the beginner and advanced.
Aug. 6 – Peoria, IL – Advanced Speech, Debate, and Storytelling Camps
CIBAD – Central Illinois Born Again Defenders’ motto is to “think biblically, speak winsomely, and act graciously.” How do they do that? Through speech and debate and learning to glorify God in all they do. This year they have several opportunities: ALL CAMP AND CLASSES are at New Castle Bible Church in Mackinaw, IL. Registration for camp is due by July 29.
Debate Camp August 7-10 9 am-4 pm
Students will learn the fundamentals of debate including how to research evidence, make reasoned Arguments, and write an affirmative case. Most importantly, students will get the chance to debate! . This class will be taught by former top debaters. Ages: 12-18. Cost: $50
Storytelling Workshop August 6th 10 am -4 pm
Storytelling improves language skills, stirs the imagination, and connects people. Students will have fun while learning more about this valuable communication skill. Ages 8-18 Cost: $12
Advanced Speech Workshop August 6th 10 am-4 pm
Heather Neumann is excited to be coming to Central Illinois. She
will be teaching a one day Advanced Workshop geared for students who know
the basics of Competitive Speech. Cost: $40.

Aug. 10 – Platteville, WI – One Day Novice TP Camp for CC families
Coach Joel Erickson will be teaching the fundamentals of argumentation (claim/warrant/impact), then refutation (four-point), then case construction (combining argumentation and refutation). They will use basic ideas and unique resolutions. There will be sessions on cross examination and basics of the format as well. Everything will be supplemented by activities and practice rounds to give growth experience.

Aug. 20-22 – Madison, WI – Speech and Debate Camps
This will be NCFCA TP Debate on Aug. 21 and 22 and a Jump Start Speech Camp on Aug. 23

After that, we’ll do basic policy theory (stock issues) and discuss the resolution. We’ll do sessions on cross examination and basics of the format as well. Everything will be supplemented by activities and practice rounds to give growth experience.
Jump Start Speech Camp – Learn about each and every Speech event in NCFCA. Use this time to explore and brainstorm about the possibilities for the up coming Speech Season. This is an excellent camp to do in the summer or as a kick off for your club. Classical Conversation families love learning about the different types of speeches before they head into the Challenge years.
Who: Beginning and Advanced Students. Each camp is unique and interactive, break outs include group leaders. This is a one day camp and although students do not walk away with a speech, it’s an interactive approach and more of an overview of what speech is, how it is fun, and the possibilities!
What:
- Learn about the new categories in NCFCA this year — what they are, their rules and how to get started!
- Think about choosing a piece for your personality and purpose!
- Learn aspects of communication!
- Engaging, fun activities to put what we’ve discussed into action!
Sept. 12-13 – Omaha, NE – Speech Camp
This is a two day camp hosted by Omaha Knights Speech and Debate Club, it includes a Jump Start Camp (see above description) on day one. Day two will include tracks for the beginning and advanced student.
Sept. 14-15 – Kansas City, KS – Speech Camp
This is a two day camp hosted by Areopagus KS Speech and Debate Club, it includes a Jump Start Camp (see above description) on day one. Day two will include tracks for the beginning and advanced student.
Kristi Eskelund Camps
Aug. 25 – Wake Forest, NC – One Day Interpretive Speech Camp
