It’s HERE! 2024-2025 NCFCA LD Guidebook + Club Syllabus by: Ethan Tong

When I competed in NCFCA LD, I never bought sourcebooks. Why? It seemed like a waste of money. Why spend $45 on 6 aff cases and 6 neg cases, just to choose maybe one of them, and discard the rest?

Most likely, even if I did choose a case or two, I’d discard it in the middle of the year, realizing that I’ve developed better ideas and can write them better than someone else. So why spend money?

Enter the Lasting Impact! Lincoln-Douglas GUIDEBOOK. Instead of a sourcebook, where you just parrot someone else’s words, Lasting Impact is providing a guidebook to provide you with the tools you need to write the best possible case. We don’t just give you cases––we give you arguments. We give you evidence. We give you stories and examples. This isn’t just a guidebook for students! This is a guide for parents, coaches, and clubs! The Lasting Impact! model is to come alongside you to help and assist you in your journey. Go to the SHOP to purchase yours today… or scroll to learn more…

Description

This is Lasting Impact!’s official guidebook for the 2024-2025 NCFCA LD resolution. With 35,721 words and 110 pages of well-researched content, it’s over 20 pages longer than last year’s guide!

It’s not just filler, either. The guidebook is PACKED with content that you need for this year. In contrast to other sourcebooks that give you 6 aff and neg cases you might use for one tournament and then scrap, Lasting Impact’s model is to provide you with arguments, responses, examples, studies, and stories that you can use ALL YEAR long.

To improve on last year’s guidebook, we’ve added an additional section on TEN viable resolution analyses one could choose from this year. That’s in addition to:

– 40 definitions

– 8 reasons to prefer definitions

– 19 examples of modern-day automation

– 6 case studies on automation’s pros and cons

– 12 value frameworks and affirmative/negative arguments

– 123 citations

– 2 full LD cases

People who have used Lasting Impact’s guidebooks can’t recommend them enough. After buying last year’s sourcebook, a club coach, wrote, “I’m not going to bother with any others this year.” Tena Crosby, who has been coaching professional public speaking for over 10 years, said, “This past season, we purchased and used the Lasting Impact LD Guidebook and it was FAR AND AWAY the best sourcebook I have ever used.” Alumnus Joel Erickson, who reviewed this year’s guide, wrote: “This Guidebook is an invaluable resource—Ethan’s exhaustive research and engaging prose will prepare novices and national champions alike to tackle the intricacies of this year’s topic.”
