Based on George Orwell’s classic allegory, this interpretive cut traces the hopeful rise and devastating collapse of a revolution born in the name of equality. Inspired by the dying words of Old Major, the animals of Manor Farm overthrow their human owner, believing they can create a society where all animals are free, equal, and united. Under the banner of Animalism, the pigs assume leadership, promising fairness, shared labor, and a better future for all.

As the farm transforms into Animal Farm, power gradually consolidates in the hooves of Napoleon and the pigs. Through propaganda, fear, and manipulation—voiced chillingly by Squealer—the original ideals of the rebellion are slowly rewritten. The Seven Commandments meant to protect equality are altered, dissent is silenced, and blind loyalty replaces independent thought. Snowball is driven out, Boxer’s unwavering dedication is exploited, and Clover begins to sense that something has gone terribly wrong.

The tragic heart of the piece centers on Boxer, whose strength and devotion fuel the farm’s progress, even as it destroys him. His betrayal exposes the ultimate truth of the revolution: the leaders have become indistinguishable from the tyrants they replaced. In the final moments, the animals realize that the promise of equality has been reduced to a single, haunting commandment—“All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others.” As Napoleon walks on two legs, the animals are left to confront the devastating cost of unquestioned power and misplaced trust.

This interpretive cut serves as a timeless warning about propaganda, authoritarianism, and the ease with which noble ideals can be corrupted.
