Description
This class is designed for returning Team Policy debaters who are ready to sharpen their competitive edge. Whether you’re preparing for your first elimination rounds or building on prior success, this class focuses on the strategic decision-making and persuasive communication that separate good debaters from great ones.
Students will refine every aspect of the debate round, including case construction, stock issue analysis, cross-examination, rebuttal strategy, impact weighing, and round vision. Through drills, practice debates, case workshops, and individualized coaching, competitors will learn how to make complex arguments clear, adapt to different judges, and make strategic decisions under pressure.
In addition to technical skills, this class emphasizes practical debate—prioritizing arguments that win rounds rather than simply sound impressive. Students will leave with a stronger understanding of effective case design, advanced negative strategy, efficient preparation methods, and the confidence to communicate persuasively in any round.
This class is best suited for students who have completed at least one year of Team Policy debate or have a solid understanding of the event’s fundamentals.
