2023-2024 NCFCA LD Guidebook by Noah McKay
Downloadable PDF – 51 Pages
Description
This guide is divided into five sections: an introduction, a section on definitions, a section on potential arguments, a section containing a ready-to-run affirmative (AFF) case, and a section containing a ready-to-run negative (NEG) case.
Because “rationalism” and “empiricism” are vague terms, there are many different ways to interpret the resolution, each of which is amenable to different arguments. So, in Section 3, I will offer three of these interpretations and briefly survey the arguments available to AFF and NEG under each. I encourage you to incorporate your favorite of these arguments into a constructive case of your own eventually, though you are welcome to run the cases in Sections 4 and 5 in the meantime.
Throughout this guide, I will cite books and articles that I think you will find helpful. Full citation information for each work can be found in the references section at the end of the guide, along with details about each author’s credentials.
