In this course, we will introduce some of these skills, including outlining and persuasive writing, an introduction to logic, basic economics and lawmaking, and a simplified look at the NCFCA resolution. Ages 10-14. Class size limited to 12.

Bio – Amy Eichholz began debate class nine years ago alongside her oldest son, and while he and all his siblings have graduated from novice debate, she is still happily there. As she prepares for my sixth year coaching novices in my local club, Salt & Light, “I can’t wait to see the transformation of another group of young students from beginners overwhelmed by the new language and demands of debate into enthusiastic and skilled competitors who think critically and deeply about important issues.” Prior to homeschooling her children, Amy taught fifth through twelfth grades in public and private schools, with an emphasis on special needs and gifted education. “I love debate because it synthesizes the critical thinking skills and applies them in exciting, real word ways.”
