Lasting Impact! aims to empower students with the skills of effective communication and teamwork through the avenues of debate and public speaking. The Team Policy Principles camp is a two day online event designed to give you a kickoff to your season in an engaging, fun, and interactive way. Covering the big picture of team policy and giving you some practical tips and tricks to succeed.
If you want a jumpstart on this year’s resolutions, this is the camp
for you! Whether you’re an experienced competitor or have never done
Team Policy at all before, you’ll find everything you need here! Ethan
Tong (NCFCA ‘19) and Nathanael Kolssak (NCFCA ‘22) are pairing up to
teach this two day camp. They’ll teach a novice and an advanced track:
the basics of the argumentation style and TP theory for the novices,
and effective ways to consistently win rounds for advanced folk. There
will also be some discussion on the topic this year, foreign policy to
Central America. This camp is not your average “basics camp.” We’re
determined to put you on track to succeed immediately this year,
whether you’re new or you’ve competed for three years.
The camp will run from 9am until 3:30pm, and will feature engaging
presentations and plenty of student interaction!

What league will you be coaching? We’ll be coaching debate. Regardless of what league you compete in, this camp is designed for you. There will be workshops designed for NCFCA, Stoa, ASDA debaters.
Will sessions be recorded? Yes.
What level will this be geared towards? You know your student best! Most leagues start debate at 12 years old. If you have youngers but feel they are ready or they will be completion age by the time the season comes, feel free to register.
Coaches –
Nathanael Kolssak – Nathanael Kolssak is an NCFCA alum who competed for seven years in nearly every speech category and three forms of debate. Having achieved nationally ranked status in speech and debate, Nathanael has continued his journey at Cedarville University, where he is currently pursuing a degree in communication and entrepreneurship. Going beyond his academic pursuits, Nathanael has found fulfillment in coaching high school speech and debate. Nathanael’s approach to debate is unique, as he is a staunch advocate for developing narratives that captivate judges and create a winning storyline.
Ethan Tong – Ethan Tong is the head coach and founder of Blackstone Moot Court, the premiere Moot Court coaching organization in the nation. In addition to Moot coaching, he has coached Lincoln-Douglas, Team Policy, and Apologetics. His students have routinely placed at the National level. A recent graduate of Hillsdale College with a Philosophy and Religion degree, Ethan is attending Truett Theological Seminary at Baylor University, pursuing a Masters of Divinity. He approaches coaching with an equally strong focus on knowledge (from his liberal arts education) and rhetorical excellence (from his collegiate Mock Trial experience).
