Description:

Ever Ready Speech and Debate is excited to announce the “Best of the Midwest” Speech & Debate Camp for the Summer of 2023. As before, we will be partnering with Lasting Impact! to offer a 5-day camp for both new and returning debaters. Experienced students can choose either the Team Policy or the Lincoln Douglas debate track, where they will learn beginning and advanced debate skills and participate in applied content discussions about the new NCFCA resolutions.  New competitors will receive basic instruction on both speech and debate to help them prepare for the start of the NCFCA competitive season.

Tracks Offered this Year Include:

• Team Policy Debate for New and Experienced Competitors
• Lincoln-Douglas Debate for Intermediate Competitors
• Speech & Debate for New Competitors

This year our instructor lineup includes both new and returning coaches. Here is the current list of coaches and speakers for the 2023 camp:

 Primary Instructors

• Griffith Vertican is BACK!
• Nathanael Kolssak (Novice Team Policy Coach): Nathanael is a nationally-ranked, graduating senior who has competed with NCFCA in Lincoln-Douglas and Team Policy for many years. He will co-leading the novice debate track with his debate partner, Kaleb.
• Heather Neumann (Speech Lead): Nationally acclaimed speech coach and founder of Lasting Impact! Heather will be leading the beginning speech track with Lasting Impact Associate Adrian King.Speech and Debate Coach/Mentor Information – Lasting Impact!
• Hillary Kolssak (Lincoln-Douglas Debate): Experienced Lincoln-Douglas debate coach and leader of Chicagoland’s EverReady Speech and Debate Club. Hillary will oversee the instruction and discussion for the Lincoln-Douglas track. Intermediate/Advanced Lincoln Douglas with Hillary Kolssak – Lasting Impact!
• Louis Kolssak (Camp Coordinator): Management consultant, former debater and team policy debate coach for EverReady Debate. Louis is the content lead for camp and will be our camp emcee this year. Business Consulting – TURNkey – Technology Support and Services
